Sustainability
Building a better future
Our sustainability strategy takes a holistic approach across three core pillars.
We’ve set objectives and targets against each pillar to drive meaningful sustainable outcomes and systemic change across our business, residents, supply chain, investors, and in turn, wider society.
- Planet – we’ll become a regenerative business
- Circularity – we’ll design out waste from our communities
- Social – supporting the social and economic vitality of our local communities
Our holistic approach to sustainability
Sustainability in Chigwell
The approach to the proposed Chigwell development will be to develop a tailored sustainability strategy under the Five Capitals model (physical, natural, human, social and economic) which seeks to maximise the benefits for both occupants and the wider community.
We will look to establish the baseline carbon emissions from the building and look at ways with which to optimise operational performance whilst considering limiting the impact of embodied carbon through careful selection of materials for the construction and operation.
At the forefront of the work around Sustainability, we will be ensuring that the spaces are comfortable, adaptive and fit for purpose not just for today’s climate but for future climate scenarios.
